More than VND 96 billion to supply clean water to rural people
Tra Vinh Province is implementing projects to upgrade and expand clean water supply stations in 9 communes of Chau Thanh, Cang Long, Cau Ngang and Cau Ke Districts, with the total budget of VND 96.5 billion. 

Projects with the total capacity of 400 m3/ hour, invested by Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tra Vinh Province were started from Dec 2019. They are expected to complete and operate by the end of 2020.

When putting into use, it is sure that clean water meets the standards of the Ministry of Health, water flow is provided sufficiently and constant water pressure is maintain continuously for about 8,000 households in the communes of Thanh My, Da Loc, My Chanh and Song Loc (Chau Thanh District), Huyen Hoi (Cang Long District); Hieu Tu (Tieu Can District); Vinh Kim (Cau Ngang District) and Hoa An, Tam Ngai (Cau Ke District).

Mr. Pham Minh Truyen - Director of Tra Vinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the whole province has about 980,000 people living in rural areas. The provincial agriculture sector is exploiting, managing and operating 116 rural water supply stations, supplying water to 123,631 households.

The province has also invested nearly VND 9.2 billion to implement the project supporting clean water for 4,000 households affected by drought and salinity in Cang Long and Chau Thanh Districts. .

By the end of 2019, the rate of rural households using hygienic water reached 98.5 percent; in which, the rate of using clean water reached 67 percent, exceeding 5.5 percent compared to the plan.

Tra Vinh strives for 2020 that the rate of rural population using hygienic water in the province reaches 99 percent, in which, households using clean water reaches 68 percent.
